I have mentioned in not much detail about getting a cottage and getting out of my loft. Well, here is a bit more detail. I purchased a loft over a year ago, it's supposed to be done this December and as you know the economy hasn't been all that great and the developer is going extremely slow. They say next July. Well, since I over see construction and develop schedules all day..... I say next December. I don't want to wait another year.
Anyway, back to my cottage dream!
I found this fabulous cottage with a nice back yard for my dog.
I started thinking if I were living there this Christmas how would I decorate my home. Well, I found these images on Martha Stewart. I really like these 2 front doors wreath ideas. Which do you prefer? I can't decide. I would love to put garland and white lights on the railings.

This cranberry wreath in front of the mirror is just gorgeous! I have a mirror with a dark stain almost exactly like this one.... I think I may have to age the frame like this one. Loving the red with it!
These I will have to make for the door knobs through out the cottage. I just love the idea of hearing the little bells and the big silver ribbons are just perfect!

This gumdrop wreath is so sweet! I need to make one of these. It will smell spicy and bring memories of my childhood Christmas. My dad and I were the only ones who would eat the gumdrops! No one else likes them in my family, they are yummy and I can just see this simple wreath hanging on my bedroom doors. (of my new cottage of course)
Keep your fingers crossed and BIG positive thoughts my way that I can get this adorable little cottage! I will be writing my letter to Santa tonight, I have been a very good girl this year!

I've been sending out positive energy since I heard about your dream cottage! I loved all the wreaths you found, they're so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteLove the cottage! And you could decorate it with all the greenery and garland goodness of that 1st picture!
ReplyDeleteMaegan :)
Wow! Crossing fingers and toes for you. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so keeping my fingers crossed for you. I thought you were coming back to Cali, Callie! :)
ReplyDeleteYes...this cottage would be a lovely Christmas present! Amanda x
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, it looks remarkably like the little bungalow in Miracle on 34th street! A sign perhaps?
ReplyDeleteAnd I think Santa would definitely stop for milk and cookies if you did the place up all nice like in these pics :) Though he might have to beat me there...
Oh Santa.... please listen to her!
ReplyDeleteENJOY your week!

the wreaths are stunning, I need enough doors for one of each as I don't think i can decide between them all!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE the cottage...looks remarkably like a smaller version of some of the houses I visited when househunting in Portland, Oregon a couple of years back - your choice of wreaths, wheichever you choose, would go so well on the cottage door and make it look all the more welcoming at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt's the Christmas spirit that's more important, in my opinion, than where we are or what we're doing - I do believe dreams come true, though...
Hope you have a great week Callie..:)
