Happy Halloween!!!!

As promised, The Haunted House on Harrison complete with Ghouls roaming about, ghosts flying about in trees and the Kirkyard complete with grave diggers!!
It looks fantastic at night with all his special lighting set up.  My dog goes crazy every time we pass.  The ghosts in the trees are over the street so when you drive the move about!

Happy Halloween everyone, be safe.  Off to get ready for a party!

I am not one to get into the Halloween spirit, of decor and such.  Not sure why, but I just can't. I am the only one on my block who has not decorated my house in Halloween attire. (I will post a neighbors house on Saturday to show you how over the top the decor gets around my little town, FULL BLOWN graveyard with ghouls!!)
anyway....

I am trying to get in the spirit so I decided to post some of my favorite items from Toast with the colour orange. {Does that count?} I think it does:)
I just love this store, I want everything they sell! especially the orange items.

I love it when I get the catalogue in the mail, I read over it multiple times. I never get tired of looking at the lovely images.  I so love winter! Just look at their clothes and you can see why I love winter to so!

Happy Tuesday!

INTERIOR DESIGN: Autumn-American Folk Interior

Kay Thacker's Lincolnshire Cottage
Autumn decor at its best!

Kay Thacker's cottage dates back to the 1600s! This normally is not my style but I fell in love with this cosy cottage and warm decor! The raw and rustic interior reminds me of history, the way we used to live before the McMansion came about in the past years. This small comfort cottage showcases New England design in Old England, warm and inviting.  I could have a little place like this to visit on holiday, sitting by a fire reading a good book or knitting! with a nice cup of tea near by.  Only to dream!

Hope you all are having a happy Monday!

HOLIDAY: Sonoma Wine Tasting with G

I went to Sonoma a few weeks back. It was amazing and beautiful. The weather was perfect, the wine tasting wonderful and a fabulous time spent with friends.  G and I went tasting with 2 friends (good friends of his, new friends to me) Casey and Thanh. (sorry I don't have any photos of Thanh, she took all the photos in this post)

Well any way, we went to a lot of wineries. Here are a few of my favorites:

Hawkes Wine
Sorry, I don't have any photos from here at the moment. When I get the dvd from G this week with some of my wine (he shipped it on Friday, so hopefully will arrive tomorrow!!) He has the camera I used for the trip. hence, the reason I have no photos of Thanh.
I joined the wine club with Hawkes so I am excited about my quarterly deliveries!  The wine here is fffantastic!  If you are ever in Sonoma, I highly suggest going to this tasting room! It was such a fun afternoon.  After we went next door and had a picnic lunch of cheeses and french bread with Hawke's wine. I learned to really understand the swirl and smell of the wine here!!

Bella Vineayard & Wine Caves
The late harvest Zinfadel is soooooo good! Had to have a few of these in my new wine collection.

View up the hill from the cave.... of wine tasting heaven!

Here are two images of the private dining area for special wine tasting.
How amazing is this room!

Porter Creek Vineyards
My favorite wines here are the old vine 2006 Carignane and Zinfandel's.

Here is G and me leaving Porter Creek with our purchases of many bottles. (see Casey peeking around the corner!! heehee) Here I learned to spin the wine in my glass!!

Here is G the "Vine Warrior" The protector of all wine!

We went to a special Private Access "Harvest" release party under the giants oaks in the middle of the vineyard.  I can't even express how amazing it was to walk through the vineyard with Tom Passalacqua, up the hill to the giant oaks where they had tents sets up.  We then sat with Jason Passalacqua while he talked about the wine we were tasting. The passion and the love they have for their trade showed not only through their gestures, discussions but the wine too! It was truly an amazing time!!

This is my favorite photo of G and me!
Look at our happy faces.

I can't wait until next year!!
