The one thing I regretted about moving from the UK to the US is having to leave my books behind that I had taken years to build up.

Oh my goodness, you are making me want to read again! I have a pile of books from the past year that I haven't read, used to be a voracious reader, but somehow with work it's all gone out the window. I think "I was Behind You" might be just what I need :) Thanks for all these great picks!

ReplyDeleteCoincidentally, I just read about her in a magazine (UK House & Garden) and was so impressed by the whole story! It was a bold move, especially since literature in translation is kind of a risky bet market-wise. But I'm so glad she began Pushkin Press and I cannot wait to check these out. I think we all miss out when we don't have access to books written by foreign authors. (I've just been reading a Stefan Zweig book and love it, btw.)
