I realize that we bloggers are really good at writing lists. Lists to document and follow... list to completing events, tasks and projects that we want to accomplish over the next 12 months.

I too have come up with a list, which is quite long so I narrowed it down to 3 important things that I really need to accomplish. I pulled one item out of each of my categories and combined a few (yes, I am that bad!!! I make categories: Personal, Home, Charity, Family..... and others) The Home category is the largest which means lots of DIY for posting!! And my home will become more cosy and the backyard will be finished! {that is if I complete the list heehee}

MY LIST:
1. get back into shape: start running/training again. I need to feel better and more energetic. I know running will help.
2. buy less and give more. I already started to go through all my "stuff" to give to charity and have quite a pile. And doing this I will be able to get my guest bedroom/office designed and completed (a friend is giving me a corner unit, one that I have been searching for the past year! and guess what it is free!!) This also includes more DIY projects for my house.
3. Organize and document all my family history papers, photos and items. I have 10 banker boxes full of papers, photos and stuff! Also, on this items, it means that I will need to take a few trips this year: Canada, Scotland and London to gather more information from the elders in my family. (I really miss Scotland!! Aberdeenshire is one of the most beautiful places on earth to me!!  It is so peaceful and I completely forget about everything when I am there! a place I can truly relax and enjoy family)
I hope to talk my dad into going to Scotland with me again! I know he would love it. He enjoyed it so much the first time.

Wishing you all have a wonderful 2011! I am excited for this new year!

  1. I love #2! I am going on a closet fast for four month!! (read more about it tomorrow). I have already organized my shoes and got rid of so much stuff for charity:).

    Scotland is my favorite place on earth. There really is nothing like it. :)

  4. Good list of goals ~ and I just know you will accomplish them all!

    A few years ago, I attended a friend's wedding in Aberdeen, Scotland. The memories still make me smile ~ the locals were some of the most kind and fun-loving people I have ever met. We will definitely visit again.

  5. Very good goals! I know you will accomplish them (though organizing that paper work/photos sounds daunting)! I feel kind of relieved this year to have taken the pressure off myself to achieve goals, I think I finally trust myself to know I'll get it all done to the best of my ability. I can't tell you how glad I am that we got a chance to meet in person--it was SO fun! Can't wait to meet up again. Lots of love to you in the new year!

  6. Happy New Year Callie! I'm hoping to get to Aberdeenshire this year to, to my shame I've never been! I also need to scan all my family photos as well as a lot of them are deteriorating quickly :(

    Happy 2011!! x
