Andrew Davidson studied Royal College of Art in London. His gouache paintings and wood engraving enchant me. Especially, the latter. His work is integrate and extremely detailed. The entire process is amazing; engraving on English Boxwood and printing on an 1859 Albion hand press.   

I have been enamoured by block printings & etchings ever since I visited my cousins in Killin Scotland. They own Killin Gallery, were they have the largest inventory of etchings in the UK. Not only is the gallery filled with beautiful pieces but their house is a wonderful display of work as well.  Next time I go, I will definitely be purchases a few pieces for my home.  So, when I was reading through Country Living and came across Andrew Davidson I knew I had to post about him. His studio has a tree top view for inspiration.  His work is truly an art form of patience, skill, imagination and complete beauty. How lovely would it be to have one of his pieces!!
