Julie Daoust and John Baker, newlywed owners of the this amazing cottage retreat on Ontario's Georgian Bay is simply amazing. The Marcel Wanders dining table is on my wish list and paired with gorgeous mid-century Danish Shaker chairs by Folke Palsson and Jorgeen Baekmark. I love the boat artwork framed in a wonderful shell frame. The stone fireplace is flanked by Alvar Alto shelving, keeping the room clutter free with is light wood finish and minimal design. The kitchen done on a budget, looks amazingly thought through. The refrigerator drawers faced in fir plywood plays off the plywood paneling and paired with the white ikea cabinets making the kitchen clean, fresh and simple.
I so love the fact they have wonderful pieces of classical furniture throughout the cottage.
One day, I would love to drive to Toronto to see their store: Mjolk, a Scandinavian and Japanese lifestyle store. Here is there blog to view more of their cottage and their home in Toronto. I hope one day to have a cottage as sweet as this!

ReplyDeleteI love that you wrote about this space--so different from your usual interiors, and I love the traditional furniture, for some reason those chairs have been all over lately. They look great in black!
