DESIGN: Painted floors

I personally like them. A lot! I find myself dreaming of painting my stairs down to the basement. I saw this image and BAM, I am doing it! How perfect is that aqua colour on the treads! *sigh* so serene paired with the white walls, and a nice impact of black for the hand rail and the chair!! the shape is awesome, I love chairs that have unusual shapes.
I probably won't do this project until the fall, but until then I will dream of pretty steps!

I really love the shiny wide plank flooring painted white in this image. Clean, fresh and just pretty!  I love the little peek of cabriole leg and paw foot of the table. 




And this flooring, painted black! eeee love how the dark floor helps ground the space and plays up the blue walls framed in dark fabric.

  4. I was thinking about painted floors awhile back and wrote about it and had about 50 rabid floor restorers weigh in. It looks cool but apparently be prepared for it to chip off, which is great if you want a cottagey look.

    p.s. You're up this week for eye on style, any chance you can get it to me by tomorrow? fingers crossed!
