Okay, this weekend has been trying.
She is not getting better.... but she is eating now that I know how to feed her with her nose toward the ceiling so she won't regurgitate her food up.
Same with water, I use a pink straw lifting her snout up to the ceiling and drizzle the water in. She is barking at the moment, upset because I am not sitting basically on top of her. Breaks my heart.
She is shaky all over and not able to use her front legs now.
I need to try and take her out side but it is difficult lifting a 76 pound dog up and down stairs.
But I will make a go of it soon, she needs to enjoy the outside.
While I am at work this week, the little boy next door will be coming over and sitting with her to read her books. He is home schooled and he loves her. I am blessed to have neighbors like them!
Until tomorrow..... I will missing a bit not able to read my favorites this week while taking care of sassy so please forgive my absence this week.

Sassy Update!
She ate some food today! yeah! yogurt and soft dog food, Natural Balance.
This is the best dog food, she loves it. Sassy typically eats their kibble and sometimes with a bit of the soft food for a treat. I tried it tonight and she ate it up!!
hip hip!
And she is refusing to let this none walking bit stop her. At this moment she is standing in the dining room {swaying just a bit, but she is standing in defiance!!} refusing to let this get her down!! She even walked 4 houses down today and a bit of a round about in the back yard.
You go pup!!
She still is in bad shape but she is fighting it. I can not wait until that test results come back!! To get her on some meds to fight this and make her frustration go away!

A Little Help From My Friends!
Hello,
I can not decide what to do with this shelf unit!
I have been looking for a bamboo shelf since I completed by bathroom renovation last winter. I would see one that I loved and they would be $150.00! yikes, so when I found this little unit, these two women were discussing how shaky and flimsy it was, wondering if it would hold her cook books.... I hovered out of their sight and the second they walked away "to think about it" I walked right over and scooped it up for a whopping $25.00!!
You should have seen the lady face that wanted to use it in her kitchen. Is that bad that I just swooped in as they walked away?
well, I am happy with my purchase, but I need help!!
Should I paint it??? (I am not loving those burn mark patterns)
What colour?? White? Black? Grey? Pop of colour??
It will be sitting in this bathroom, that it's photographed in.... please comment your idea's!
I just need a little help from my bloggy friends.

Sassy Update
Well, her spleen is fine! completely fine!
BUT
they think she has Myasthenia Gravis.
Yeah, sounds bad doesn't it! Well, she is frustrated. She is an active dog and unable to walk. Myasthenia Gravis is the non communications of nerves to muscle. Basically, her wish to walk or run or stand is not transmitting to her muscles and she collapses. My arms are aching from lifting her.
I won't find out for 2 weeks, since it takes forever to get the results. I will update you as soon as I know.
She is only eating biscuits (she has a scottish owner so hey makes sense to me!!) and plain yogurt. any suggestions??
I have tried: boiled chicken, white rice, soft food, cucumbers, strawberries and she snubbed them all.
Last but not least! Thank you all who have sent prayers and positive thoughts here and on facebook! It has given me strength to push on. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

BRILLIANT FINDS: Doormats
I am looking for a new door matt, mine is looking pretty ratty! I left it out over the winter and it's in bad shape. I was over at Young House Love, they were having a give away with Joss & Main. (psst, they always have the best give aways!!)
I went to check out the online store and I am so happy I did!!! They have fabulous items; door matts, dog beds, kitchen ware by Rachel Ray.... the list goes on and on. These two were my favorites and I can't decide.... I best decide quickly since they are on "event" (sale) for only another 20 hours.
Head on over and tell me what you like on the site.

Sassy update
Sassy will be going in for an ultra sound tomorrow.
Today she is perky and herself but can't walk very well or stand for long, she falls and can't get up! I keep a check on her gums and they are pink. All she will eat is yogurt (sometimes) and her biscuits.
Trying not to be sad.

My Sweet Sassy is very sick!
Yesterday, I took my sweet pup to the urgent care for dogs.
They ran tests and did x-rays.
I am waiting for confirmation from the results today and I am trying so very hard not to cry. They said yesterday that the blood results looked fine, but her calcium levels are high. Then they saw a mass pushing on her spleen. This is not good, she is having difficulty getting up and just lays around. She has also pee'd many times in the house (which she never ever does) and I am trying to clean and get rid of that urine smell.
She is a bit more perky today after the hydro pack they put under her skin and I have been making sure she drinks water. She is still not eating very much. Last night a few strawberries. This morning a doggie almond biscuit. She won't eat anything else.
I am waiting for the vet to call and it is the most stressful thing ever!
I am cleaning the house and attending the pup... when I stop, I start to cry. So I am trying to keep busy. She's only 6 so she should not be having any of these problems! Please think of positive thoughts for her.
I know she is a dog, but she is my world.

Quick Post!
I have a few words!
Just a few......
I went out with coworkers this evening to celebrate a retirement of an individual I have worked with over the past few years. Denny is an electrician that I have enjoyed working with and have learned a lot from him. He is going to enjoy life to the fullest and has many plans for his retirement!!
I wish him well in his upcoming adventures.
This evening was amazing with crazy animals. On my way home I encountered a baby raccoon then a frantic deer running full speed toward the creek!
The deer did not run me over, so that was a relief! (I scurried out of his path, he did not see me in the darkness nor the other women who happened to be walking along the same route home)
Not sure why he was so crazed but I was happy I heard him running towards me. I have never seen a deer act like that, something completely spooked him.
Again, Denny congratulations on a wonderful retirement!! Cheers!
Hope you all had a wonderful night!

ARTIST: Georg Guoni
Capturing the essence of the Icelandic landscape, he layers colour pigment and vanish to create the magical effect of the luminous landscapes. Even though is work is abstract you still have the effect of the shimmering landscape captures on a piece of square canvas.

BRILLIANT COLLECTIONS: Sibella Court

Sibella Court
An Interior Stylist and creator of captured moments!
Owner of The Society inc, her shop of hardware & haberdashery is a place I can get lost in for hours! While trolling the web for images of her work, I was inspired by her collections of collected items and displayed under glass domes, in drawers and boxes, along with items hanging from the ceiling, or art rails from wire and sometimes string. I love the raw, this is how it works attitude. Accepting that it has to hang from a wall some how, and she beautifully accepts it as it is; wire, hooks and the like.
I have been collecting since I was a child and I have boxes of rocks, shells and other bits and bobs from all over the world. She has inspired me to pull out my collections and display them! In the next few weeks I will be posting the inspired vignettes!

but for now, this is what it looked like before........
When I moved in the first thing I did was remove those blinds from the door and the crusty stiff red curtains! The first thing my mum did was rip that wall covering off, seriously she walked in and said, "oh, my! this has got to go!!" and proceeded to pull the wall covering down. (mind you the paste underneath was pretty ugly too as you can see below.) and it stayed that way for 2 years until last week a friend said, "You know, that will wash off really easy!"
BAM! seed planted and I was on a mission!!!
I can't wait to show you, I am soooooo excited. (My mum and dad will be here in September and I haven't told them about this fun little project!! can't wait to see their faces!)
Hope your weekend was fun and productive. Did you do any fun DIY projects?

Ending the Day, with a drink: MULBERRY!
"Drinking is a way of ending the day"
~Ernest Hemingway
English Cordial Glass 1745-1765
I am so excited!!
I found this mulberry tree down the street in the alley area of an empty house! I went and foraged a container of fruits today! I have researched and have found many recipes for crumbles and cordials. Guess what I will be making this weekend! eeeee, so excited!
I will need to go forage more (need a basket full) and I will be bottling up my cordial once made! mmmm they are so tasty.
I would love to serve them in these gorgeous cordial glasses from England. How pretty are they!
I need to get out and forage more often...
Have you foraged any yummy treats this spring and summer? Do tell!
