COLLECTIONS: Holiday decor

I love Christmas!
The Fairy lights, the glass bulbs and all the prettiness! The scent of pine!!
This year I decorated with magnolia leaves and pods with tons of fairy lights draped and in glass jars.  When I went to Kentucky, Judy gave me a heap of branches to haul back for my decor.  I also love  old vintage glass balls, which are gorgeous with aged patina.  I really don't have a theme, to much thought process for me during this really busy season.  I just put out what I love!

I don't have any images of my decor, since I am in Los Angeles........ so, I found this lovely this pine cone decor on pinterest! My nieces and I collected pine cones and magnolia pods yesterday and today we are painting them glittered gold and hanging ribbons from them for holiday gifts. We always do a craft together for the holidays and this is what Claire picked to do!  Should be a fun day!  I will post photos of our crafts later once they are completed.

What decor did you do for this holiday season?

BUSY HOLIDAY: Merry making!

Ok, I have been a bit neglectful! My deepest apologies, I have been busy every night and day making these crochet shoulder wraps.  I set up an etsy shop in hope to sell for the Holidays and I am making them and they are sold!  I wear it to the store and sell them to strangers, wear it to work and sell to fellow employees!
So, I am happy!  I promise to get back here real soon and will introduce you to "grayson made" once I slow down enough to post them on the site :)
I have so many Christmas inspiration that I wanted to share but that may need to be for next year... I hope not.  I am hoping I slow down enough this weekend to get in a few good inspirational posts for you.
Have a good day!

MY LIFE: Road trip, Keeneland Track KY

Keenland Race Track!
Lexington Kentucky
I was so excited to walk the grounds.... I just wish it was spring to see the horses running!
When I was a young girl, my dream was to be a horse jockey. Yep,  I wanted to race horses. I was very small so I would have been a great career choice but when I turned 21 I grew 4 inches! Then another 1.5 inches at 26. My career would have been short lived.  Even though I still only weighted about 105 at 5'8".  I was a skinny rail.  Anyway, I am off subject here...... I was so excited to see this beautiful race track.  With so much history, you could feel it in the air. The grounds are magnificent.
What place would you love to visit tomorrow if you could??

DECOR: Christmas Village

Christmas Village!
I went to Kentucky over the weekend to relax.  I had such a wonderful time and I will be posting more later on the road trip.... but for today, I am posting about Christmas Decor!  Just look at this wonderful winter wonderland of a Christmas Village!! I am completely blow away how wonderful this village is, just look at it!!! Years of collecting and many memories.  Such a wonderful tradition.  I went to visit my friends parents; Judy and Rich F. They have such a beautiful home and they have it completely decorated for the season!  This village is a work in progress, and 15 years of collecting.  Each piece has a story and they set it up with their grandchildren every year.

Traditions are such a wonderful thing!  I am going to Cali for Christmas and I can't wait to get there to do some baking and cooking with my nieces.  My family is all about food, so Christmas is filled with good things to eat and drink.  All the women gather in the kitchen for days preparing food and drink for the house full of people who come for dinner or just stop by for a treat and holiday cheer.
I love passing on the recipes to my nieces, they love being in the kitchen as much as I did as a child.

What traditions do you have for the holiday season?

DESIGN: Bar Cart

As I am getting ready for December, I have begun to plan the next dinner party.... December 17th is fast approaching and at this moment I am thinking about the bar!
What to serve? Besides wine and beer, I think I will have a signature drink or two on hand.  I will be setting up a bar cart with all the ingredients for the special drinks.  I am sure I will go with a vodka drink and maybe a Hendricks Gin....tipple, maybe a Floradora or an Orange Burst??
Do you have a drink that you are sipping at the moment?

SLEEPY DAYS: Long nights

It has been a long month, and I noticed on my pinterest I have been collecting gorgeous hidaway beds!

I would so love to crawl back into this bed and close the drapery and just snuggle under all those luscious blankets!   How gorgeous is that colour palette! paired with the wooden drawers below, slightly worn finish and pretty design.
I have been thinking of a new winter palette for my bedroom and I am thinking is might be it!  I would wake up energized and happy with that red and crimson with a touch of grey and worn white.
What colour palettes are you seeing in the bedroom that you are really loving at the moment?

DECOR: Jolly old time!

Remember making these when you where in grade school?  I do.  I think this is going to be a project I work on with my nieces when I go to California!  I was on Martha Stewarts site looking for fun crafts to make this holiday. I love the old school, egg crate bells!
I love looking at Martha Stewarts crafts and food, she always have the perfect thing to make or do. OR eat!
I made this yesterday: with a bit of tweaking.....

I placed dark chocolate on the bottom then put white on top then sprinkled the crushed peppermint on top!  Wrapped it all nice for my team at work, the guys work hard for me and I make them lots of treats during the holidays. This is the busiest time of year for us, everyone in the building needs to spend their budget dollars or they loose it... so, I am busy in the kitchen over the next few weeks :)

how sweet are these littly yule log boxes!!
love them to pieces.

What holiday crafty things are you doing this year?
