DESIGN: Living Room Inspiration

It all started with this lovely bouquet of flowers! I love the purples, light and dark with the crisp white behind.

Then I found this wonderful interior by Victoria Hagan! I love the dark crushed velvet on the sofa's with purple, violet and navy blended and reflected in the glass and stainless steel of the coffee table. Then that beautiful pop of pink with the flowers and the bits of red!

I have begun my living room inspiration boards and searched for a few items that I need to do for my living room transformation. Of course I always check out palette colours at Rachels blog! Lovely Clusters! Her mood boards are always inspirational.

When I am all done, I will post images for you to see!

But here are a few images of inspiration: need to get shopping!

For the unexpected colour pop, like the pink and red.... I thought I would use this pretty blue: These throw pillows are reasonably priced on etsy! $31.20 for a 24x24 cover! Then throw in the pink and violets, and navy! and a bit of red.

I know I will need to get new area rugs for my house.... I will start with these navy area rugs from ikea. I need to select a wall colour in a darker gray or I may just keep the gray I have which is a medium tone.

Since, I have a big dog I need an area rug that is durable and easy to clean (hose down!) and Ikea always has these wonderful graphic rugs that are easy to clean and look great for the year or two use that I get out of them. I will use the larger on in the living area and the runner in the hallway to the bedrooms and at the entry!
