LOOK: Homemint!

Most of you know shoemint!  Now there is homemint, which I am really excited about. I am constantly changing my home around, this past weekend was a prime example.  I shifted rooms around and shopped for new pillows, bedding and accessories as well as outdoor room furniture and accessories for my sisters visit this weekend!
 I get this obsessive changing of spaces from my mum! She was constantly changing our house around, you may have remember my post on my many bathrooms here.

Target

I love this polish colour! 

It has been gracing my toes in sandals all week. It's such a pretty metallic colour. This line at target is very reasonably priced; 3 bucks for the bottle. And it's small enough that I can use the entire bottle before throwing it out.  The files are only a dollar a piece.  

Thanks Target for having Cos Bar at your stores!  I love the nail colours! 

and the leopard print is really cool too.

Memorial Day: a day of thankfullnes

Memorial Day! 
When I was a child, my family would gather on memorial day and we would eat incredible food, home made ice cream and talk about family.  I think those days really influenced me and made me determined to research my family tree and to publish where we came from and how we got here.  Days like this make me thankful for all the men and women who have sacrificed to allow me to be free to able to speak, free to practice my spirituality, to live my of life as a successful career women and to own property.  They have sacrificed to give me the right, it is not free. And for that, I am truly grateful.  Thank you all for allowing me and many others to live their lives with the ability to choose, to speak and to live.

Hello All!!

Today, I am relaxing, working at home! 
It is an awesome sunny day out, enjoying every sun ray as possible.  I am sitting with my coffee slightly flavored with cardamon pods, listening to Florence and the Machine, smelling my lovely peony flowers that are looking quite pretty in their small blue vase!

I am working from home this week, which is nice.  I have actually gotten so much done, it's amazing what being alone with no distractions can do for your productivity.

BOOK: Painterly Plants

 

Seriously Stunning!

When I received a copy of "Painterly Plants" I was completely amazed at the captured beauty of each flower.  Painterly Plants is a book collaboration of  Clare Foster, Garden Editor at House & Garden magazine and acclaimed photographer Sabina Rüber.  

Sabina is a photographer that I have featured before, her work is stunning! The beauty she captures just inspires me to create.  The first flower below was the inspiration of my guest bedroom! Everyone loves that room; sweet, dark and moody with that beautiful magenta bursting brightly with the blue/purple grey background.

The book is a history of each flower and then photographed in such an artistic and architectural style that one can pull inspiration from for your garden as well as your interiors.  I hope to one day have beautiful flowers such as these in my garden, but for now I will just lust after them by reading through this beautiful book!

Growing up, we went camping for 2 weeks every summer. We slept in tents, hiked and fished all day, bathed in the streams and sat by the fire at night telling ghost stories and eating s'mores! 

I miss those care free days of just enjoying nature and hanging out with my sister and brother, sitting on rocky!! 

I have been trying to plan mini vacations for myself so I actually get away for my vacation to actually rest.  So, I picked up the latest Sunset Magazine and so happy I did!  I so am wanting one of these tear drop trailers.  Even though, I do not have the proper car to pull such a trailer!! I drive a mini, but a girl can dream!
